Alrighty, to start preheat your oven to 350, and add the flour and salt to a sifter and sift five times. Set aside.
This is an important step, so you really have to sift it five times.
Next, get only the egg whites out of FIFTEEN eggs. That, my friend, is a lot of eggs! Take a bow, Manry Chickens!
Then wip the eggs on high until they look like this. Bubbly and frothy, but still liquidy.
Add cream fo tartar and mix on high for a long time until it looks like...
This! It probably should have mixed a little longer, but that's okay.
Then slowly add the sugar at medium-low. You are supposed to sift the sugar three times, but I didn't and it still tasted fine.
Now, vvveeeerrrryyyy carfully fold in the flour and salt mixture to the egg whites.
Looks good...
Then add a teaspoon of vanilla..
And gently fold that in, too.
It kinda looks like ice-cream!
Now add dough to a non-greasy, non-cooking-sprayed tube pan. We packed ours, so we used a bundt pan instead.
Bake for 35-40 minutes, then allow it to cool upside-down on a bottle.
Yum!
Twa came for a slice. Twa, I hope you know you will NOT be getting a slice, so don't get any cake-eating ideas.
I forgot a half a cup of sugar. Plus two tablespoons. Big mistake. It still tasted fine, just a bit un-sweet. So don't be like me!
If you have some fruit, add sugar to it in a bowl, and in an hour or so, you'll have a nice syrupy thing going on! Makes a great topping!
And, another poll is up! Check it out!
